About

reganbogen is Regan Heckscher, a multi-instrumentalist percussionist. Alone on stage, Regan builds each piece in circles: a vibraphone figure, then marimba, synthesizer, voice and hand percussion, looped and layered until the room is inside it. Field recordings run underneath: birdsong and other sounds Regan gathers from daily life.

A reganbogen set works more like a ritual than a concert. It is slow, sincere and hypnotic, and it asks the audience to arrive. Regan is also a stop-motion animator, and some shows include an original film projected behind the instruments.

The name joins Regan with Regenbogen, German for rainbow.

After a hard day stuck inside their own head, one listener said the set brought them back: present, engaged and intentional again.
